Avitrol Plus Wormer Tablet for Birds

Avitrol Plus Praziquantel Wormer Tablets for Birds are a broad spectrum worming treatment used to control common internal parasites in birds over 250g bodyweight. It is effective against threadworm, caecal worm, roundworm, gape worm, gizzard worm and tapeworm, helping support gut health, condition and overall wellbeing.

This product contains a combination of Levamisole and Praziquantel, two proven active ingredients that work together to target a wide range of intestinal worms and help break the parasite life cycle.

Avitrol Plus can be used in chickens that are not producing eggs or meat for human consumption. It must not be used in food producing birds. This makes it suitable for pet chickens or ornamental poultry only.

Levamisole hydrochloride equivalent to 16.96mg levamisole base

Praziquantel 4mg

Indications

For the treatment of threadworm, caecal worm, roundworm, gape worm, gizzard worm and tapeworm in caged birds over 250g bodyweight

Dosage and administration

Administer orally directly into the throat at the rate of

Levamisole hydrochloride 40mg per kg bodyweight

Praziquantel 8mg per kg bodyweight

• 250 to 500g bodyweight, half a tablet

• 500 to 750g bodyweight, one tablet

• 750g to 1kg bodyweight, one and a half tablets

Directions for use

• Treating birds under stress or birds actively feeding young is contraindicated

• Do not give to Gouldian Finches

• Use with caution in parrots and finches as they are less tolerant to levamisole

• Treatment during the breeding season or for racing pigeons is not recommended

General instructions

• To reduce the likelihood of vomiting, do not handle birds for at least ten minutes after treatment

• Do not feed birds for twenty four hours before or three hours after treatment

• All birds in the same loft or cage should be treated at the same time

• Clean and disinfect the loft or cage three days after treatment

• If worm problems persist, consult a veterinarian

This product must not be used in birds intended for human consumption, including egg or meat producing chickens.
